Dustin M. Kindle, 38, of 405 Northwest Court, Lakeview, was charged with telecommunications harassment and menacing by stalking and was lodged in the jail on April 21.
Earlier this year during February, deputies were notified by a female victim, who reported that she had learned that Kindle went to several area businesses to attempt to gain her contact information and that he had been given her phone number.
The victim reported that on Feb. 16, she received a text message from the defendant, stating that he had received a “message from God” about her and asking to meet in person. She told him that she did not want to meet in person.
The victim said she did not hear from Kindle again until April 21, when she received a text message from him again. She provided the text messages to deputies.
The defendant was located at his residence that day and was placed under arrest and lodged in the jail.
Driver transported from S.R. 47 crash
Blade Q. Scott, 21, of DeGraff, was transported by Riverside EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries following a crash early Wednesday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound 2002 Toyota Tacoma on State Route 47 near Township Road 208 about 2:10 a.m. when he went off the south side of the road and struck a telephone pole and a tree.
He was cited for failure to control and was wearing a seat belt. Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene.
OVI charge filed
Scott M. Stephenson, 56, of 404 N. Center St., Belle Center, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs relating to a traffic stop Saturday evening.
Deputies were dispatched about 10 p.m. to the Belle Center area regarding a report of a possible intoxicated motorist.
Deputies located the vehicle in question in the area of north Center Street and School Street. The vehicle turned into an alleyway and deputies initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle reportedly turned into a private drive and came to a stop the 404 N. Center St., address.
Deputies spoke with the driver, Stephenson, and observed an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and noticed an open beer on the passenger floor board.
The defendant was asked to step out of the vehicle and deputies observed that he was unsteady on his feet. He stated he had costumed several alcoholic beverages and he refused to submit to field sobriety tests.
Stephenson was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail. He submitted to a urine test, with results pending. Deputies note that he has three prior OVI convictions in 1997, 2005 and 2007. He also was cited for open container in a motor vehicle.
