Justin A. Edlen, 26, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, lot K1, Zanesfield, was charged with two counts of endangering children related to an incident Monday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 11:50 a.m. to the area of 1018 Alpine Valley Road, Zanesfield, in reference to two small children showing up at the residence.
The couple told deputies they arrived home about 11:20 a.m. and observed two young children, ages 3 and 5, in their garage area. The children could not state where they lived, but said that their dad was at home sleeping.
The couple observed that the children were dressed in snow boots, hats and winter coats. The children stated they were hungry, so the residents provided them with food.
Deputies located the children’s father, Edlen, at his residence. He told deputies that he had been having trouble sleeping at night, so he had laid down for a nap and that’s when the children must have left the home.
He was taken into custody and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
