Walker E. Evans, 21, of 704 N. Main St., Apt. 3, was charged Saturday with felonious assault.
A woman who also resides in the apartment building told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department she and the suspect had been on a back porch drinking alcohol. She helped him up to his residence as he was stumbling to reach the stairway to his apartment.
He claimed he need to take medication, but once in his apartment, he began to smoke processed marijuana products. Hoberty said his mood changed dramatically and he allegedly kicked her in the chest, held her down on the floor and began strangling her. She fought him off and scrambled to leave but he alleged grabbed her and began choking her again.
She finally broke away, leaving him in his apartment.
Officers reportedly observed visible injuries to her neck.
He was found passed out on the floor of his apartment. He was arrested and he was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Items stolen outside residence
Dylan Montgomery of Miamisburg reported Saturday more than $1,000 in electronic and security components were stolen from outside 408 E. Columbus Ave. while he was working as a subcontractor of Dish Network. He left the items in a duffle bag outside the residence as he worked and notice the bag missing around 4:40 p.m.
Husband lodged for domestic
James A. Grannison, 64, of 532 Ludlow Road, was charged Sunday with domestic violence.
Around 4:10 p.m., his wife, Jodi, met with officers at the police department. She told them her husband had been drinking most of the day and began arguing with her when she came home from work to have a meal.
He allegedly grabbed her by the hair and her shirt while yelling threats to harm her.
He was found at the residence, taken into custody and lodged in jail.
Nephew charged for hocking phone
Skyler A. Arnold, 18, of 117 W. Auburn Ave., was charged Sunday with theft. He admitted to selling a borrowed cellular phone to Game Stop, 2228 S. Main St.
He had borrowed the cell phone from his aunt and she reported it stolen, officers report.
Window shattered
David J. Williams and Brittany N. Case, 214 Pratt St., Apt. 6, reported Friday a peg from a bicycle was thrown through the bottom floor front window of their residence around 3:10 a.m.
They did not see any suspects as they were upstairs sleeping when they were awakened by the noise of the window shattering.
A neighboring apartment was similarly targeted a few day prior to the Friday incident, they told officers.
