WILSON |
A Huntsville man admitted sexually assaulting a boy at least two times in a plea deal that was reduced from rape to a third-degree felony gross sexual imposition.
Brandon Wilson, 43, of 6675 Willoby St., Lot 5, appeared Monday in Logan County Common Pleas Court to answer to charges that stem from incidents in 2009 and 2014. The boy was age 10 and 15 at the time of the abuse, Assistant Logan County Prosecutor Sarah Warren said in court.
There were allegations that Mr. Wilson gave the victim and other juveniles alcohol prior to the second incident, but Mr. Wilson denied that specific allegation when he spoke briefly before Judge Mark S. O’Connor.
He also reportedly threatened to harm or kill the boy if he reported the sexual conduct. The abuse came out during a Logan County Children’s Services investigation in March 2015, Ms. Warren said.
Mr. Wilson originally was indicted on two first-degree felony rape charges that were reduced to two gross sexual imposition charges, one a third-degree felony and the other a fourth-degree felony because of the differing age of the victim.
The defendant will be labeled a Tier II sex offender and must register with authorities for 25 years. He will be sentenced April 18.
