WILLIAMS |
A Bellefontaine man entered guilty pleas Monday to a felony and two misdemeanors for breaking into a woman’s home and assaulting her.
Kareem D. Williams, 27, appeared in Logan County Common Pleas Court before visiting Judge Roger Wilson and pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony attempted obstructing justice charge and first-degree misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and endangering children.
On July 7, he reportedly showed up at Megan D. Brown’s 816 Heritage Court apartment around 7 a.m. and began talking to her through an open window.
She told him to leave before getting up to check on one of her children in another room.
He then allegedly entered and began knocking over furniture.
He found her in the child’s room and punched her in the head, legs and back, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department reported at the time of the crime.
A first-degree felony burglary charge was dismissed in exchange for the plea to the lesser felony.
Mr. Williams faces up to 18 months in prison on the felony and six months each on the misdemeanors when sentenced March 14.
