Joe Antram, Logan County Commissioner, encouraged township officials during Thursday evening’s Logan County Township Association’s annual banquet to try to figure out ways to get residents to cooperate and register with the 2020 census.
“Our population with our county needs to be accurate with our monies and being federally funded,” he said. “People who mistrust the census the most may benefit the most. It is the law and we stand a chance to benefit greatly by people’s participation in the census.”
Also in relation to money, Antram said commissioners are going through budget hearings right now.
“Money is tight,” he said. “We are dealing with a flat budget. That’s a challenge our office is looking at.”
Another challenge will be finding a new location for Township Association meetings.
Don Bradley, Monroe Township Trustee and Logan County Township Association president, said due to Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s upcoming renovations, which will take place throughout the next three years, future meetings will have to be relocated.
