A Logan County jury returned a verdict of not guilty Thursday in favor of Anthony Ramos on the charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the fourth degree.
The jury deliberated for approximately two hours before reaching its verdict.
During an August 2020 incident, Ramos was the target in a shooting incident at Tumbleweed Southwest Grill, 2241 S. Main St.
The shooter, Carrie Blosser, was Ramos’ wife. In May of 2021, Logan County Court of Common Please Judge Kevin P. Braig sentenced Blosser to 4-to-6 years in prison on her plea to felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.
According to the testimony at trial, after the shooting incident, Ramos became close with his accuser and her family. The State of Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation undertook DNA sampling of Ramos, his accuser, and his accuser’s clothing but did not detect any evidence that linked Ramos physically to the accuser.
Logan County Assistant Prosecutor Alice Robinson-Bond represented the State of Ohio. Defense counsel Addie King of Urbana represented the defendant.
