The Logan County Council on Aging is seeking Logan County residents interested in serving as vice-chair and secretary starting Jan. 1, 2021.
Anyone interested is asked to contact Karin Nevius at the Area Agency on Aging, (937) 341-3001/800-258-7277, knevius by Friday, Oct. 9. Terms are for two years but will be staggered initially to ensure future smooth transition of officers. Names will be presented and voted on at the Oct. 13 council meeting.
The purpose of the Logan County Council on Aging is to provide a mechanism for enlisting broad-based community support for Logan County’s older adult population.
The council serves as a forum for the exchange of information and communication on pertinent issues and services for older adults, and individuals, groups, agencies and organizations that are actively involved with older adults.
The council also advocates on behalf of Logan County’s older adults at the local, state, and national level.
The organization conducts four meetings a year (currently the second Tuesday in February, March, August, and October), that are open to the public. The Council also coordinates the annual Logan County Senior Day each May, and selects the Logan County Outstanding Senior Citizen.
Logan County is one of the nine counties within the region of the Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2.
