COLUMBUS — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost Friday filed suit in Franklin County against a local home improvement contractor accused of performing shoddy work and failing to deliver promised services.
The lawsuit accuses Bobby Dappert, owner-operator of Dad’s Home Repair & Excavation, 5798 S. State Route 292, Zanesfield, of violating Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act and the Home Solicitation Sales Act.
“A person’s home is their castle and their biggest investment,” Yost said. “That makes a scam about home repairs hurt more than a lot of other scams.”
Consumers claied financial losses of $42,949 in five complaints against Dappert and his business. The complaints allege shoddy work, incomplete projects and damage to property and ignoring repeated attempts by consumers to obtain refunds.
