Laura Grace Marker, 84, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:06 p.m., Monday, Feb 17, 2020, at Belle Springs Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her loving family.
Grace was born in Champaign County on Nov. 27, 1935, to the late Ira Lawrence and Una Vera (Kiser) Brunke. She was also preceded in death by three of her children, Deb Austin, Pamela Sue Hill, and James Marker; her former husband, Chester S. Marker; and seven of her siblings. Grace was the last of the Brunke kids.
Grace is survived by her three sons, Timothy Marker, and Thomas (Paula) Marker, both of Bellefontaine, and Brian Marker and Shannon Wirick, both of Sevierville, Tenn.; a son-in-law, Tim Hill of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Scott, Chris, Greg, and Jennifer; two step-grandchildren, Jill and David Brunke; three great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Brunke and Janet Brunke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace worked many years in food service, including the Palm Grill, the railroad YMCA, Moore’s Café, and Ike’s Restaurant. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her family and friends. Grace really loved going to craft shows with her special friend, Bob Hill.
Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates Grace’s funeral Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at noon, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Visitation is two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Champaign County.
