Larry A. Slotten, 69, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Friday evening, September 30, 2022, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine, OH.
Larry was born on February 9, 1953, in Bellefontaine, a son of the late Curtis and Rose Thomas Slotten.
Larry married Vicki Harford on March 25, 1972, in Lakeview and she survives along with two children, Matthew Slotten of Lakeview, and Jamie (Michael) Doskocil of Columbus, a brother, Steve (Carol) Slotten of St. Louis, MO, several nieces and nephews, and loyal companion Bailey, the spoiled rotten black lab.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Indian Lake High School and a 1973 graduate of the United Technology Institute, earning an associates degree in electronics. He worked for Cardington Yutaka Technologies (formerly Bellemar) for 30 years, retiring in 2016. Larry was a life member of Sons of Amvets Post #39 in Lakeview and a member of the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge #2563. He was a history buff and a collector of all things old and dusty, a long-honored family tradition. Throughout his life, he enjoyed restoring and showing antique tractors and classic cars and being around Indian Lake. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and was known as the ultimate jack-of-all trades. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. He loved his family, his canine companions, Rascal (who is sitting in his lap now) and Bailey, and spending time with his Amvets Family.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at the Amvets Post #39 at a later date, where more than a few glasses will be raised in remembrance.
Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, OH. Condolences may be expressed at shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
