$877,000 project expected to be finished by November
Lakeview village officials and members of the project team broke ground Friday on a new fire station at 540 N. Main St. that will allow the 18-person roster to better serve residents of Lakeview, Stokes Township and the surrounding area.

After residents voted in favor of a half-percent income tax in November, village officials opened bidding in January and, in February, accepted the Robinson Building Solutions’ bid of $876,960 over nine other bids ranging up to $1.11 million.
The 15-year levy will generate between $93,000 and $106,000 annually to be put toward a loan through Osgood State Bank in Lakeview.
The 80-by-150-foot, all-steel structure, designed by Heintz Engineering of Sidney and M&K Engineering, will feature four drive-through bays and a single bay, offices, a communications room, fitness room and meeting or training room.
The Bellefontaine-based contractor is expected to complete the project in mid-November.
