Indian Lake’s boys basketball team is firing on all cylinders as it prepares for the home stretch of the regular season.
The Lakers on Tuesday won their seventh straight game by overpowering host Bellefontaine 64-34.
Indian Lake improves to 9-4 on the season.
The Chiefs drop to 2-13.
The Lakers’ standout quartet of sophomores Caiden Nicol and Camdon Tuttle and seniors Caleb Wurster and Luke Jackson again fueled the victory Tuesday night.
Nicol scored a game-high 19 points. Wurster had 12 points, Tuttle tallied 11 and Jackson also made it into double figures with 10 points.
Bellefontaine did not have a double-digit scorer. C.J. Wilson led the Chiefs with nine points and Carter Snapp had six points.
Indian Lake set the tone with a 13-4 run in the first quarter.
The Lakers stretched their lead to 19 points (29-10) at halftime.
Indian Lake continued to run away in the second half. The Lakers held a 22-point advantage (47-25) after three quarters and added to their cushion in the final period.
In the junior varsity game, Indian Lake won 57-47. Burke Lillard led the Lakers with 13 points. Xzavier Rogan led the Chiefs with 20 points and Truman Howell had 14 points.
Both teams are back in action Friday. The Lakers host Northwestern and Bellefontaine plays at home against Tecumseh.
