Indian Lake’s softball team delivered a fifth-inning rally against visiting Benjamin Logan Thursday to grab a 7-5 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division victory.
The Lakers are now 10-7 overall and 3-6 in the CBC Mad River division. The Raiders slip to 12-4, 6-3.
Ben Logan, who won 6-5 in nine innings on Monday against the Lakers, had the upper hand in the first half of Thursday’s game. The Raiders led 3-1 after three innings and scored to two more runs in the top of the fifth inning for a 5-1 advantage.
Indian Lake came storming back in the bottom of the sixth inning by driving in five runs to take a 6-5 lead. The Lakers added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 7-5 score.
Ben Logan was unable to come up with any runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Kyleigh Huffer sparked the Lakers on offense by going 3-4 with two triples and an RBI, Claire Young went 2-4 with an RBI, Kendall Cotterman hit a double with two RBI, Haylee Edwards went 2-3, while Lexi Lones and Katie Roby each had an RBI.
Madison Brentlinger picked up the win for Indian Lake in the pitching circle with two strikeouts.
For the Raiders, Gretchen Wilber went 2-3 with two doubles, Jenn Naragon went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Georgia Bates hit a triple, Rhea Harner hit a double with Lynzee Cronkleton and Ryelle Gibson each adding an RBI.
Indian Lake travels to Tecumseh today, while Ben Logan hosts Jonathan Alder.

Pirates edge Cardinals
Riverside’s softball team jumped on visiting Triad early Thursday and held on for a 5-2 win in non-league action.
The Pirates boost their record to 7-9 on the season and the Cardinals drop to 7-10.
Riverside drove in three runs in the first inning and added another in the third inning for a quick 4-0 score.
Triad scored its only run in the fourth inning to trail 4-1. Riverside added another run in the fifth inning to make it a 5-1 advantage. The Cardinals were only able to score one more run in the seventh frame.
Offensively for the Pirates, Alaina Snow went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Sierra Snow went 2-3 with an RBI, Jade Copas hit a home run with an RBI, Kylee Angle went 2-3 and Malaina Jenkins had an RBI.
Alaina Snow recorded the win for Riverside in the pitching circle and tallied 15 strikeouts.
Holly Avoid led the Cardinals at the plate going 4-4 and Ali Cox hit a double.
Riverside travels to Fairlawn today for a non-league game, while Triad hosts West Jefferson in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
