Indian Lake’s girls basketball team continued to roll Wednesday as it held on to beat host North Union 46-43 in a key Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division game.
The Lakers have now won three straight and four of their last five games to reach 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the CBC Mad River. The Wildcats, who were sitting atop the Mad River, are now 8-6, 4-2.
Indian Lake got off to a fast start to lead 15-7 after the opening quarter. The Lakers went on to hold a 24-16 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Indian Lake clipped North Union 11-10 to maintain a 35-26 advantage. The Wildcats attempted to rally in the fourth quarter with a 17-11 run, but couldn’t take over the lead.
Stephanie Altstaetter powered the Lakers with 23 points, while Hailey Talbot and Allison Kinney both tallied nine points.
In junior varsity action, Indian Lake beat North Union 34-31. Haylee Edwards led the
Lakers with 15 points.
Indian Lake hosts Ben Logan on Saturday in a local CBC Mad River contest.
