Lane McPherson fired a 73 to lead Indian Lake’s boys golf team to a fourth-place finish in the nine-team Ryan Reynolds Invitational at Liberty Hills Golf Club on Thursday.
Dayton Carroll won the tournament with a 311, with St. Marys in second with 316 and Lima Shawnee in third with 324. The Lakers carded 335 for their fourth-place finish.
Urbana was fifth with 347, host Bellefontaine took sixth with 367, Benjamin Logan finished seventh with 371, Tecumseh was eighth with 412 and West Liberty-Salem took ninth with 495.
Tyler Michael shot an 82 to aid the Lakers’ fourth-place effort. Also for IL, Maddux Hall had 88, Camden Tuttle shot 92 and Ethan Elbert added 95.
Liam Harris led Bellefontaine with a 75. He was followed by Kody Watts with a 90, Austin Hammond with 95, Rory Pierce with 107 and Joseph Boop with 108.
Jacob Mitchell paced the Raiders with an 83. Luke McKenrick shot 90, Aiden Elsass had 91, Kaiden Munz shot 107 and Justin Elliott had 109.
Greyson Horsley led WL-Salem with 108, Collin Thompson shot 121, Luke Thomas had 131, Leland Henry shot 135 and Aidan Taylor added 149.
Shane Ochs of Carroll was the medalist after prevailing in a playoff with Urbana’s Tate Armstrong and Lima Shawnee’s Justin Altenbach. All three golfers shot 72 to force the playoff. Ochs won on the fourth playoff hole.
