A total of 16 local wrestlers received Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association all-Southwest District honors this winter at the annual all-area meeting.
Indian Lake led the way with seven wrestlers being selected in Division II, while Benjamin Logan had four selected. Bellefontaine had five in Division I. Teams must be a member of the GMVWA in order to be nominated and receive awards.
The Lakers had two second-team selections in Kurt Crockett (138) and Steven Major (220), while the Raiders’ Cole Houser (106) was also a second-team selection.
Indian Lake also had two wrestlers receive honorable mention accolades. That duo included Chance Daisy (145) and Connor Dixon (170).
Earning special mention in Division I for the Chieftains were Gaige Reeves (106), Bryan Ward (120), Phil Francis (145), Lance Houchin (152) and Dawson Miller (160).
In Division II, special mention honors went to the Lakers’ Dylan Knotts (160), Zach Palmer (182) and Cole Mefford (195), while the Raiders had Lane Griffin (126), Mitch Current (145) and Mason Plikerd (160).
