Indian Lake’s boys and girls track and field teams both came away with wins Tuesday during a quad meet at Upper Scioto Valley with Ada and Allen East.
The Laker boys won with 102 points, the Mustangs were second with 82 points, the Rams were third with 40 points and the Bulldogs took fourth with 36 points.
The girls meet saw Indian Lake dominate the meet with 151 points for first, Ada was runner-up with 56 points, Allen East came in third with 35 points and USV was fourth with 10 points.
Reese Martin highlighted the Laker girls with wins int he 100 hurdles (17.1), 300 hurdles (53.3) and pole vault (6-0). Other wins came from Chloe Sparks in the 800 (2:37), KaiLea Miller in the 1,600 (6:13), Elayna Richardson in the 100 (13.1) and 200 (28.1), Hannah Metzger in the 3,200 (13:57), Alexxie West in the long jump (14-10), Ava Huffman in the high jump (4-6) and Grace Pequignot in the shot put (28-5).
Winning relays included the 800 relay of Jalan Martin, Richardson, Huffman and Martin (1:57) and the 3,200 relay of Sparks, Metzger, Maggie Reese and Miller (11:52).
Finishing second were West in the 100 (13.2), Jalan Martin in the 200 (28.6), Richardson in the 400 (1:06.3), Mara Reames in the high jump (4-6), Pequignot in the discus (74-2), Raelyn Parsell in the 300 hurdles (56.5) and the 1,600 relay of Miller, Kaitlyn Shaner, Andy Miller and Sparks (4:46).
Indian Lake’s boys were led by Dustin Franks with wins in the high jump (5-8), long jump (19-7) and the 300 hurdles (43.5). Also providing wins were Ryan Culp in the pole vault (9-6), Colin Burba in the 100 (12.07), Brandan Rettig in the discus (126-4) and the 1,600 relay of Nate Cummins, Brant Parsell, Jackson Young and Reid Vance (3:56).
Taking second for the boys were Vance in the 200 (24.2), Ian Wischmeyer in the 400 (59.2), Parsell in the 110 hurdles (19.3), Burba in the 300 hurdles (47.0), Caiden Gaunt in the long jump (19-1), Rettig in the shot put (43-1) and the 3,200 relay of Gavin Lowery, Tony Cummins, Nate Cummins and Heath Wilson (9:59).
Ben Logan boys take second at 5-team meet
Benjamin Logan’s track and field program opened its season at a five-team meet Tuesday at Versailles. The Raider boys came in second and the Raider girls took third.
Marion Local won the boys meet with 89 points, the Raiders were second with 67.5 points, Versailles was third with 58.5 points, Brookville took fourth with 38 points and Bradford was third with three points.
Versailles took first in the girls meet with 87.83 points, Marion Local was runner-up with 83.83 points, Ben Logan came in third with 46.33 points, Brookville finished third with 34 points and Bradford was fifth with two points.
Placing first for the Raider boys were Marshall Jackson in the discus (136-2), Mitch Vance in the 400 (55.9), Tayte Williamson in the 800 (2:22), the 800 relay of Hunter Lattimer, Max Leezer, Gavin Gibson and Vance (1:39), the 1,600 relay of Tucker Muntz, Lattimer, Vance and Williamson (3:46) and the 3,200 relay of Munz, Williamson, Keaghan Stahler and Andy Hughes (9:17).
Coming in second were Jackson in the shot put (49-10), Evan Carpenter in the pole vault (9-0), Blake Rhoades in the 800 (2:23), Munz in the 1,600 (5:14) and the 400 relay of Sam Whitten, Leezer, Gibson and Alec Rodenberger (47.4).
Adding third-place efforts were Stahler in the 400 (56.3) and Rhoades in the 1,600 (5:14).
Ben Logan’s girls saw wins from Dani Widmark in the 1,600 (6:04.9) and Ella Studebaker in the high jump (4-6).
Placing second were Widmark in the 800 (2:37.5), Kaycee Cook in the high jump (4-4) and the Izzy Heater in the shot put (30-9).
A host of third-place finishes came from Alanna Gibson in the shot put (29-6 1/2), the 400 relay of Ezrah McGue, Maddy Herring, Mya Burrey and Richelle Stover (57.1), the 800 relay of McGue, Herring, Burrey and Studebaker (1:59.9), the 1,600 relay of Kerry Copenhaver, Mylee Boysel, Studebaker and Sami Meeker (4:42.8) and the 3,200 relay of Tori Miller, Brooklyn Horner, Allie Fay and Boysel (12:28.6).
Calvary competes at Ridgemont meet
Calvary Christian’s boys and girls track and field teams competed in a quad meet at Ridgemont on Tuesday.
Isaac Reinhard sparked the Spartan boys by winning the discus and shot put, while second-place efforts came from Reinhard in the 100 and long jump and Ethan Shepherd in the 3,200. Ephraim Daniels added a third-place effort in the high jump.
The Spartan girls saw Lexi Reames win the 800 with runner-up finishes coming from Reames in the 1,600, Abigail Reinhard in the 100 hurdles and the 1,600 relay of Madhuri Cook, Hailey Howard, Ruby Slemmons and Reames.
Taking third were Howard in the 300 hurdles, Cook in the 800, Reames in the discus and the 800 relay of Grace King, Chloe Prall, Anna Kratz and Reinhard.
