Benjamin Logan’s girls basketball team built a big lead over host Northwestern on Wednesday and then fought off a late Warriors’ surge for a 53-46 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division victory.
The Raiders are now 11-2 on the season and stay atop the Mad River division at 5-0. The Warriors drop to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the Mad River division.
Ben Logan used a 17-5 run in the second quarter to enjoy a 33-18 halftime cushion.
The pace slowed for both teams in the third quarter as Ben Logan clipped Northwestern 7-6. That gave the Raiders a 40-24 advantage.
Northwestern cut into the Raiders’ lead with a 22-13 run in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to catch Ben Logan.
