Benjamin Logan’s softball team bounced back from back-to-back losses to Indian Lake and Tippecanoe to knock off visiting Springfield Shawnee 5-4 in a Central Buckeye Conference game Friday afternoon.
The win improves the Raiders to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in the CBC. It was Shawnee’s first CBC loss of the season. The Braves are now 7-4, 5-1.
“What a difference a day makes,” said Ben Logan head coach John Stahl. “We made a few adjustments in our mental approach to tonight’s game. We played the game with more passion and intensity. Darian (Rockhold) pitched a great game. It was her best of the year.”
The Raiders scored twice in the first inning and Shawnee plated a pair of runs in third inning to knot the score at 2-2.
Each team scored two runs in the fifth for a 4-4 score.
Ben Logan then pushed across the go-ahead run in the sixth.
“We scored two runs on a suicide squeeze in the fifth and that was huge,” said Stahl.
