Raider boys win Triad Invitational
Benjamin Logan’s boys junior high cross country team took home the first- place trophy Tuesday after winning the Triad Invitational.
The Raiders held off Mechanicsburg to win the boys meet 56-64. London came in third with 71 points, Tecumseh took fourth with 89 points, Triad beat Fairlawn in a tiebreak- er for fifth with 122 points each and Urbana was seventh with 162 points.
London won the boys meet with 28 points, Ben Logan was second with 36 points, Triad took third with 85 points, North Union was fourth with 86 points and Tecumseh finished fifth with 98 points.
Eric Hughes placed fourth overall out of 60 runners to lead the Raider boys with a time of 12:04. He was followed by Jacob Roth in 10th (13:08), Evan Carpenter in 12th (13:09), Trevor Sclesky in 14th (13:32) and Aaron Rhodes in 24th (13:55).
Ben Logan’s girls were led by Estella Wenger in fifth (14:47), Cassidy Rhoades in sixth (14:36), Mylee Boysel in eighth (14:47), Nora Elliott in 10th (14:49) and Cora
Watson in 16th (15:37). Shalyn Smiles led the Triad girls with a fourth-place finish, Madison Wells was 19th, Abbey Overfield was 24th, Paige Davis was 29th, Valerie Gaier was 32nd, Katrina Penhorwood was 34th, Ashlyn McCoy was 38th, Olivia Hall was 39th, Gracie Street was 47th and Samantha Law was 49th.
For the Cardinal boys, Wyatt Robison was fifth, Justin Quintero was 21st, Jacob Haser was 35th, Caleb Allinder was 45th, Layne Blackburn was 51st, Charlie Harrington was 53rd and Luke Ford was 57th.
