WL-Salem girls, boys win OHC championships
West Liberty-Salem’s girls and boys junior high track and field teams capped a stellar season by winning Ohio Heritage Conference championships on Thursday at Northeastern High School.
The Tiger girls ran away with the league title by over 150 points and finished the spring undefeated at 72-0. They distanced themselves from second-place Southeastern 200-54.5. Triad finished seventh with 9.75 points.
WL-Salem’s boys also won by a large margin with 156 points. Mechanicsburg came in second with 72.5 points and Southeastern was third with 65 points. Triad was sixth with 38.5 points.
The Tiger girls had several first-place finishes that included school and meet-record times.
