WL-Salem girls win Ben Logan Invitational
West Liberty-Salem’s girls junior high track and field team led several area teams by winning the Benjamin Logan Invitational in impressive fashion Thursday.
The Tigers won the 16-team meet with 178.3 points, River Valley edged Bellefontaine 108.3-101 for the runner-up spot and Benjamin Logan came in fourth with 51 points. Triad finished 11th with six points and Indian Lake tied for 15th with two points.
Anna won the boys 16-team meet with 118 points, WL-Salem was a close second with 108.3 points and Bellefontaine was third with 71.5 points. Ben Logan finished sixth with 37.3 points, Indian Lake came in 10th with 21 points and Triad was 16th with three points.
WL-Salem’s girls set two meet records with relay teams, one individual meet record and two new school records. The 400 relay of Camrin Rice, Caidryn Wade, Julia Ames and Alex Burton won with a new meet record of 54.31, while the 800 relay of Megan Dillon, Lydia Moell, Sophie Cole and Graice Estes won with a new meet record of 1:56.82.
