Bellefontaine sweeps Indian Lake
Bellefontaine’s middle school boys basketball teams defeated Indian Lake in a pair of local Central Buckeye Conference games on Saturday.
The Chieftains won the eighth-grade game 64-54, while the BMS seventh-graders won 43-36.
Carter Sterling led Bellefontaine’s eighth-graders with 19 points, Garrett Gross had 14 points and Maverick Calton had 13 points.
For Indian Lake’s eighth-graders, Nate Reichert had 19 points, Austin Parker tallied 15 points and Clay Jacobs added 14 points.
Bellefontaine’s seventh graders saw Jarrid Baughman led the way with 15 points. Xavier Ratleff had eight points and Ethan Moore had six points.
For the Lakers, Dustin Franks scored 11 points, Chase Coburn had nine points and Darrick Curtis and Alex Barnes each scored six points.
Chiefs end Red Devils’ perfect season
Bellefontaine’s eighth-grade boys basketball team ended Tippecanoe’s undefeated season with a 36-31 victory Monday in Central Buckeye Conference play. The Chiefs are now 11-4 overall and the Red Devils fall to 13-1.
Carter Sterling sparked the Chiefs with 11 points, Holden Nease had nine points and Garrett Gross added seven points.
Tippecanoe won the seventh-grade game 37-11.
