Joyce A. Postle, 81, of Lakeview, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
Born Jan. 5, 1935, in Logan County she was a daughter of the late Frank C. and Fremont M. Reed Blackburn. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Carroll Blackburn and Donald Farroll Blackburn.
Survivors include four children, Vickie (Jim) Burchett of DeGraff, Cindy (Jim Steineman) Farrar of Maplewood, and Ron (Teresa) Postle and Scott (Renee) Postle, both of Lakeview; eight grandchildren, Amber (Jon Stanley) Burchett, Jamie Farrar, Curt Farrar, Mindy (Jed) Finn, Greg Postle, Dustin (Mande) Postle, Chris (Kasondra) Postle, and DJ Postle; five stepgrandchildren, Jamie Wical, Tad (Sarah) Burchett, Jason (Bree) Rice, Mandy (Tim) Hart and Whitney Langstaff, several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Janet of Cleveland and Joy of Lakeview; and her Maltese Yorkie, Tibby D.
Joyce retired from Airstream in Jackson Center after working 28 years as a seamstress. She was a life member of Doyle R. Miller Amvet Post 39 Auxiliary in Lakeview. She enjoyed bowling, taking trips to Myrtle Beach and was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan. Her greatest pleasure came from watching her “kids” play ball.
Pastor Karen Blackburn begins a celebration of Joyce’s life at 1 pm, Saturday, Feb. 20, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation one hour prior to services. Inurnment is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
