Joyce A. Hostetler, 78, of West Liberty, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.
She was born in West Liberty on Aug. 25, 1937, to the late Ira D. and Mary E. Hartzler Hostetler. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Berdena Kanagy and Thelma Garber; a brother, Wendell Hostetler; two nephews, Evan Garber and Timmy Hostetler; and a niece Alice Garber.
Survivors include her twin brothers, Dwight (Shirley) Hostetler and Donald Hostetler; a sister, June Hostetler; 22 nieces and nephews; and many great- and grand-great-nieces and nephews.
A member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church, she graduated from Salem High School in 1956. She furthered her education at Elkhart University where she graduated with a registered medical technologist degree. During her career, Joyce worked at Piqua Memorial Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Urbana where she was the lab director and specialized in blood banking. She retired in 1999 following 42 years of service. She enjoyed photography, traveling, and most especially, spending time with her friends and family.
Pastors Dick Barrett and Alex Dye officiate a funeral at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7,at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 1525 Mennonite Church Road, West Liberty, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the funeral Thursday. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Liberty.
