John D. “Jack” Hart, 70, of Huntsville, formerly of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016.
He was born July 27, 1946, a son of the late Clifford and Leota Hart. Jack was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, served in the United States Air Force and attended Columbia University.
He was a member of the IOOF Lodge 33 and the Moose and the Eagles lodges.
Jack enjoyed golfing with his buddies on Monday and Thursday nights, attending car shows with his hot rod, participating in the Lakeview Memorial Day parade, participating and helping with the Harbor Fest and Friends Serving Friends in Russells Point, as well as decorating the bridges at Christmas with the Bridge Lighting Association.
He thoroughly enjoyed working with his family at Hart Industries and A&H Hose and Fitting.
Jack will be deeply missed by his son, Andy (Barbie) Hart and daughter, Heather Hart. He was a loving grandfather to Samantha Ellett, Kylie Jackson and Katie, Madison, Blake and Konner Hart, as well as great-grandfather to Summer Jackson.
Jack also will be missed by his brother, Ed (Linda) Hart. He was the proud “Uncle Jack” to many, especially his niece and nephews, Kip Hart, Chris Hart, Lisa (Jim) Carpenter, Tim (Mandy) Hart and Jason Hart. He leaves behind many cousins and special friends including his former wife, Dorothy Hart; Jeff and Stacy Alexander, Becky Foth, Tom Presser, Chuck and Betsy Birtle and so many others too numerous to list.
A funeral service begins at noon Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home, 1002 E. High St., Springfield, where visitation is two hours prior.
