Jimmy Lee Elkins, 72, of Quincy, passed away at 4:26 a.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on December 3, 1948, a son of the late Harold Jerome and Esther Mae (Carter) Elkins. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Lee F. Groves; two brothers, Harold J. “Bud” Elkins II and Marion T. “Sonny” Elkins; and a brother-in-law, Milton R. “Milt” Watts.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jason) Conley of Raeford, North Carolina; a son, Jonathan David Elkins of Quincy; two grandchildren, Daniel Allan Conley, and Bethany Ann Conley; four sisters, Doris (Steve) Stump, Betty Watts, Judy Atkins, and Mary (Rick) Liebhart; a sister-in-law, Emily Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
A 1966 graduate of Linden McKinley High School in Columbus, Jimmy had worked in information technology at The Kroger Company from 1975 until his retirement in 2012.
A visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. Per his request, his body will be cremated following the visitation.
