Jeffrey W. McLaughlin, 64, of Bellefontaine, died surrounded by family in Lima Memorial Hospital early Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, after a brief illness.
Born on Jan. 1, 1956, Jeff graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1974. He had a lifelong love of music, enjoying a variety of genres and attending a number of live performance. Jeff also loved comic books and spending time with family, especially playing cards and board games.
He worked for many years at Carter Lumber and in recent years at Honda Transmission in Russells Point.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Patricia (Howard) McLaughlin, and four siblings: a sister, Susie Knox (Tim Kelley) of Bellefontaine; and three brothers, Neil (Donna) McLaughlin of Fairfield; Tony McLaughlin (Kelly Kuhlenbeck) of Bellefontaine; and Ben (Jodie) McLaughlin of Springfield. A number of nieces and nephews also survive, as does his dog Spike.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.E. McLaughlin Jr.
Jeff’s body will be cremated, and the family will conduct a memorial of life celebration at a later date.
