Mr. James Lemoine Nichols, 84, of Lakeview, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at approximately 1:13 p.m. at the RIO Mainland Center Texas City, Texas.
James L. Nichols was born in Lakeview on Sept. 10, 1935, to the union of Loretta Warwick and Frank Nichols; both parents preceded him in death.
He was united in holy matrimony to Jessie Thompson in Texas; his wife has preceded him in death.
Mr. Nichols proudly served in the Air Force July 1954 to February 1957 and was stationed at Ellington Field Joint Base Houston where he received an honorable discharge. From there he worked as a laborer in and around Galveston County for the majority of his career and until illness befell him.
Mr. Nichols leaves to cherish his precious memory two cousins; Lynn Warwick Jr. of Bellefontaine, Gerald Warwick of Bobenheim-Roxheim, Germany; two step sons; Nathaniel Bobby Thompson of Texas City, David Chris Thompson of Austin, Texas; one step daughter; Melba Thompson Thibodeaux of Texas City; 13 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; and friends; Eddie Mae Harris and Family.
He was preceded in death by; three aunts; Virginia Warwick Clemons, Viola Warwick, Essie Warwick; and three uncles; Floyd Warwick, Dudley Warwick, Lynn Warwick; two step-children; Allen Gene Thompson, Glen Wayne Thompson; one grandchild; Daryl.
Direct-Interment will be Wednesday, June 3, at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77038.
