James Christopher Davy, 22, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 4:04 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident in rural Bellefontaine.
Chris was born in Columbus on Jan. 5, 1994, and was a 2012 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, where he played varsity football and was named lineman of the year his senior year. He enjoyed music, his motorcycle, fishing, football, working out, and especially being around his family and friends.
Chris is survived by his father, Charles “Chuck” Davy of Galena; his mother, Pam Rumer Davy of Bellefontaine; stepmother, Tina Ream of Columbus; paternal grandmother, Nancy Davy of Columbus; stepsisters, Jennifer (Darren) Lee and Catie Higgins; uncles, George Davy of Columbus, Steve (Jeri) Davy of New Albany and James H. (Toni) Rumer of Bellefontaine; aunts. Teresa Rumer and Amanda (Jason) Warner, both of Bellefontaine; numerous cousins including, Kyle (Davianna) Rumer, Nicholas (Chelsea) Rumer, Jayce (Amanda) Warner, Karlie and Kateline Mathews, Erin (Brandon) Collins, Sean, Kyle, Emily and Elizabeth Davy, Jessica Robinson, and Blaze and Breanne Trout; special second cousins, Ian and Maci Rumer, Arianna Rumer and Sophie Collins; and his best friends, Chris Ginn and Curtis Dossman.
Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Charles L. “Chuckie” Davy; maternal grandparents, James Henry and Lillian Cavinder Rumer; and paternal grandfather, James Lee Davy.
Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation begins at 10 a.m. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
