DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A man who authorities said fatally shot the mother of his young son while the child watched has been indicted on murder charges.
Gregory Blanton, 33, of Dayton, faces three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and a single child endangerment charge in the indictment handed up Wednesday by a Montgomery County Grand Jury. The counts stem from the May 9 shooting of Krysten Connally, 32.
Connally was shot multiple times in the driveway of her Dayton home after she and Blanton had argued, authorities said. Blanton then drove away but surrendered to police about 10 hours later.
The 4-year-old child was not injured in the shooting.
Blanton remains jailed on $1 million bail and is due to be arraigned Tuesday. It’s not known if he’s retained an attorney.
Authorities have not said what the two were arguing about or if they were still in a relationship. Several neighbors witnessed the shooting and called 911, authorities said.
