Indian Lake’s girls basketball team had a tough day Saturday as host North Union cruised to a 61-38 win in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division play.
The Lakers slip to 7-11 overall and 4-3 in the CBC Mad River, while the Wildcats roll to 11-7, 6-1.
North Union grabbed all the momentum in the first half and outscored Indian Lake 26-12 over the first two quarters.
The Lakers kept it closer in the second half. The Wildcats outscored the Lakers in the third quarter 17-12 to build a 44-24 cushion. North Union finished off the game with a 17-14 run in the fourth quarter.
Kaylee Shelton anchored the Lakers with 15 points, while Bethany Golliday and Kayli Barlow each added six points.
In junior varsity play, North Union defeated Indian Lake 36-15. Kaitlyn Boburg led the Lakers with 10 points.
Indian Lake travels to Benjamin Logan on Wednesday for a local CBC matchup.
