Indian Lake’s baseball team chipped away at visiting Kenton for a 5-1 win Thursday in non-league action.
The Lakers improve their record to 10-2 on the season.
Indian Lake drove in three runs in the third inning and added two runs in the fifth inning for a 5-0 lead. Kenton scored its only run of the game in the sixth inning, but couldn’t get any closer.
Chase Baldwin sparked the Laker offense going 2-2 with an RBI, Luke Jackson hit a double, while Lane Mefford and Trenton Fulkerson each added an RBI.
Camdon Tuttle recorded the win on the mound for the Lakers with six strikeouts.
Indian Lake hosts Bellefontaine today in a local Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.

Cardinals bounce Hillclimbers
Triad’s baseball team used a key third inning to drop visiting Urbana 10-5 on Thursday in a non-league game.
The Cardinals improve to 6-3 on the season.
Urbana led Triad 5-2 after the top of the third inning. The Cardinals were able to pile up seven runs in the bottom of the third to jump ahead 9-5. They added one more run in the fourth inning for a 10-5 score and the Hillclimbers never caught up.
J.C. Alexander went 2-3 with a double, a triple and two RBI to lead Triad’s offense, while Batai Lease went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Jared Spors went 2-2 with a double and three RBI, Ayden Spriggs, Derek Bails and Coleman Hauck all went 2-3 with an RBI.
Hauck recorded the win on the mound with eight strikeouts.
Triad travels to Madison Plains today.

Triad tops Elgin
Triad’s baseball team dropped host Elgin 9-5 on Wednesday in a non-league meeting.
Triad raced out to an 8-1 lead after four innings. The Cardinals scored their last run in the sixth inning for a 9-1 advantage. Elgin scored four more runs in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.
Offensively for Triad, Derek Bails recorded a double with two RBI, Batai Lease went 2-3 with two RBI, Drew Campbell went 2-4 with one RBI, Logan Braun had two RBI and Blake Boldman had one RBI.
Boldman earned the win on the mound with three strikeouts.
