Northwestern’s girls basketball team grabbed the momentum early against visiting Indian Lake and never looked back Thursday in a 58-37 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division win.
The Lakers slide to 3-17 overall and 3-6 in the CBC Mad River division, while the Warriors move to 14-4, 8-1.
Northwestern raced out to a 20-7 lead after the opening quarter. The Warriors used a 12-9 effort in the second quarter to build a 32-16 halftime advantage.
The Warriors continued to control the action in the second half.
Caylee Wurster led Indian Lake’s efforts with 14 points and Morgan Evilsizor had 10 points.
There was no junior varsity game.
Indian Lake hosts Graham on Wednesday in another CBC Mad River division contest.
