Nickolas B. Kline, 28, of 211 Koke St., Apt 2, DeGraff, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic incident Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said Kline was operating an eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 33 just past U.S. Route 68 about 4:20 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road through a ditch and continued across the U.S. 33 entrance ramp from U.S. 68 and then went off the right side of the road again.
He traveled through another ditch and struck a fence, continuing into the yard of the Mary Rutan Hospital Urgent Care facility, 1134 N. Main St., Bellefontaine.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies said Bellefontaine EMS was treating Kline. EMS personnel said Kline had to be revived with two rounds of Narcan.
Deputies said Kline had a 6-year-old passenger in his vehicle, who did not report any injuries.
The defendant submitted to field sobriety tests at the scene and was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to participate in a urine test. Deputies obtained a warrant for to obtain blood work from Kline, with test results and further charges pending.
