Ida Belle Stevens Hoffman, 88, of Bloom Center, joined her beloved Savior on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.
She was born Nov. 15, 1927, in Bellefontaine to the late Clarence Stevens and Agnes Lucille Stevens.
Ida Belle married her late husband, Neil Hoffman, on Aug. 5, 1950. She also was preceded in death by a son, John Lee Hoffman; a sister, Laura Agnes (Babe) Marker; brothers, Clarence Wesley Stevens, Omar Ray Stevens and Harold Eugene “Gene” Stevens; and a granddaughter, Cinnamin Hoffman.
Survivors include five children, Larry (Alice) Hoffman of Herndon, Va. Judy (Glenn) Magelssen of Los Alamos, N.M., Joyce (Jim Selanders) Hoffman of Minster, Fred (Karen) Hoffman of Lewistown and Jim (Becky) Hoffman of Rushsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandsons.
A 1945 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, after working at Merchants Industries and Bulldog for a short time, she lovingly raised her family.
She was proud of the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She followed in her mother’s footsteps growing beautiful flowers indoors and outdoors. More important than anything, she loved to study the Bible and learn more about her faith. She supported faith-based organizations such as King’s Daughters and Bible studies.
A funeral begins at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at Emmanual Lutheran Church, Montra. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center, and one-half hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is in the church cemetery.
