Huntsville Village Council seeks a replacement for councilman Ben Frey, who has submitted his resignation since purchasing a house outside the village limits.
Anyone interested in the vacant council seat should attend the next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
Solicitor Matthew Chamberlain is looking into a letter from the Ohio Exchange Facilities Network in regard to an entity wanting to erect a cell phone tower at Lions Park near the shelter house.
Officials at the Huntsville Methodist Church requested an easement for encroachment of Second Street in relation to the possible expansion of the church, as well as the vacation of an alleyway. Officials said the church was built nine feet into the right of way of Second Street. A public hearing of concerns on the easement precedes the next council meeting, where the alley vacation also will be discussed.
Residents were reminded that voting continues to take place at the McArthur Township Building, not at the municipal building; cars violating village codes to park on sidewalks will be ticketed; anyone caught disposing of household garbage at village parks will be fined; and village-wide clean-up days are May 16 through 20.
The finance committee meets at 6:30 p.m. March 22, prior to the 7 p.m. council meeting.
