Shady Bowl Speedway played host to three classes of racing on Saturday as the street stocks, compacts and late models took center stage.
Brett Hudson survived a three-driver battle to win the street stock mid-summer 150 feature. He led the final few laps to take the victory. Jason Atkinson finished in second, Ryan Amonett placed third, Chad Pendleton took fourth and Josh Smith rounded out the top five.
The V.O.R.E.S. compact series held the third annual B.J.’s Body Shop Bowl Classic. The 40-lap feature paid $2,500 to the winner. Kyle Stark won his third straight feature as he dominated the field. Gary Eaton took runner-up honors, Terry Eaton Jr. was third, David Yoder was fourth and Trent Gossar was fifth.
Jim Lewis Jr. took advantage of his front row starting spot to win the late model feature. Ryan Fleming claimed second, Josh Smith took third, Cody Robinson was fourth and Matt Parsons came in fifth. Don Mahaffey Jr. was the fast qualifier, Robinson was the dash winner, while Jacob Mundy and Jason Timmerman were both heat winners.
Racing returns to Shady Bowl on Saturday and the schedule will feature the Ed Yoak Memorial 50. The modified will run a 30-lap main, the Thunder Cars and compacts will run 50-lap mains and the super trucks will also be in action. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
