The Recovery Zone hosts a Hope for All event from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Oldfield Beach, 11252 State Route 235, Lakeview, featuring live music and inspirational speakers.
The event is made possible through OHMAS’s Recovery In Community Event (RICE) Grant through the OCAAR RCO Network Collaboration.
“Please join us for this free inspiring event encouraging help and hope,” Recovery Zone representatives said. “We will be distributing free commemorative T-shirts that will connect people to resources and hope.”
No seating is provided, so attendees are invited to take lawn chairs.
The line-up for Hope for All features:
• 4 p.m. (subject to change) — Debut of a locally-formed recovery band led by Jared, founder of “The New Way of Life” Podcast.
• 4:30 p.m. — Brandon Novak, MTV celebrity, best-selling author, professional skateboarder and recovery speaker.
• 5:15 p.m. — Dr. Brad Lander, OSU, “Understanding SubstanceUseDisorders: Squirrel Brain/ The Addicted Brain.”
• 5:45 p.m. — Maurice Clarett, author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and former OSU football running back.
• 6:30 p.m. — Unspoken; Christian soulful, pop/rock band; lead singer Chad Mattson has been sober now for almost two decades.
Free food option is made possible by Logan County CORE (Coalition for Recovery Efforts), along with purchased food options with food trucks and “Life Recovery Catering.”
Drawings for gift sets will include signed books from Clarett and Novak, along with Unspoken band apparel. To be entered in drawings, complete and submit an entry card, which requires attending the 5:15 p.m. OSU presentation.
The event is hosted rain or shine. Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
