Smoke billows Wednesday from a residence at 1024 W. State Route 245, West Liberty, as firefighters from the West Liberty Fire Department work to combat a blaze that broke out around 7 p.m. All occupants were able to get out of the home before it became engulfed. According to Logan County Auditor’s records, the residence is owned by Nolan King of Urbana. Crews were on scene for several hours battling the fire. At least twice a West Liberty truck had to return to station to fill up with water after the tanker was emptied out putting out the fire. A tanker truck from Bellefontaine Fire Department also responded to the scene. Dayton Power and Light Co. was dispatched to cut off power to the residence.
