What do Betty White, Bigfoot and the assassination of a president have in common? They’re all part of the unusual history of our area. And from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, you can learn all about these stories—and more—at the Logan County History Center’s Fun, Funky and Fascinating exhibit.
“I first started brainstorming the idea when I was stuck at home in 2020,” Curator/Director Todd McCormick said. “It’s been 11 years since we had a similar exhibit, and we’ve brought in more stuff since then that fit the theme.”
Now, finally, they’re able to present it to the public. The extensive exhibit covers the whole museum, including the transportation section and the Orr Mansion. Special cards identify any regular item or story the museum staff found particularly fascinating.
But much of the theme-related presentations were specifically set up for Sunday’s open house.
From sports to animals to brushes with the famous—and infamous — people who’ve made their way to Logan County, you’ll discover more than enough to fill your afternoon. And just in case it’s not enough, the exhibit also includes QR codes you can scan onto your phone for additional material.
