Take a family with nearly 10 generations of circus acrobatics and add a dash of slapstick comedy. Set it to a swashbuckling theme and the result is the Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean.
“We try to put in something for everyone so this show appeals to everyone of all ages,” said Alexander Murcia, whose family is known as the Sensational Murcias. “It’s all family-based and meant for everyone, adults and children.”
The show was the idea of the family patriarch Walter Murcia decades ago, but it didn’t become a reality until 2007, Alexander Murcia said.
“Dad came up with the idea in the ’90s but it was one of those things that got put aside and he didn’t do anything with it,” the son said. “Then one day about 10 years ago he said, ‘Why don’t we do this?’”
