Lakeview Village Council members announced at their recent meeting that the groundbreaking ceremony for the village’s new firehouse is at 2:30 p.m. March 18 at the village-owned property near the water tower at 540 N. Main St.
According to construction plans, the new fire department would provide space for five truck bays and provide for in-house education and training, as well as laundry and fitness rooms.
The village administrator also announced that the colors for the new firehouse will be red and white.
Members also approved a change order for the firehouse relating to metal awnings that will be used instead of fabric awnings.
Fire Chief Norm Spring reported that Howell Rescue recently serviced all the rescue equipment for the year.
