The ILHS Closet is fully stocked at this time thanks to the generosity of kind-hearted neighbors.
Brenda Crabtree, Patti Nichols and Fran Sippel delivered all kinds of clothes, hygiene products, and even Laker T-shirts to Indian Lake High School Friday morning. Then they checked out the ILHS Closet with Mrs. Ignarski, who manages the collection.
As members of the Orchard Island, Wolf Island and Lakeview neighborhood groups, these ladies and their friends approached ILHS Assistant Dave Coburn hoping to help IL students in some way.
He suggested supplying some items for the ILHS Closet and offered them a list. In an outstanding effort, they purchased plenty of every item on the list.
“I wasn’t anticipating that they would get the whole list. This is a great example of how our community loves to support our students,” Coburn said.
“We have great neighbors,” Crabtree added. “They all just jumped in.”
The ILHS Closet is housed in Mrs. Ignarski’s room at the high school. Much like the “closets” at ILES and ILMS, students can ask to visit if they soil their clothes, need hygiene items, forget gym clothes or simply have a need of any kind.
