A group of 43 area tumblers from Gloria’s Tumbling and Trampoline team competed at the USTA Ohio state competition on Saturday at Rio Grande College. There were 10 teams from Ohio with 250 athletes in action.
Gloria’s Tumbling team placed third overall in the advanced team division along with earning 13 other top three team trophies. The squad won the sub advanced trampoline competition, earned seven second-place trophies and five third-place team trophies.
The meet was also a qualifier for the USTA national competition, which is in Tennessee in June.

After the USTA state meet on Saturday, 14 members competed again in an AAU qualifying meet. Those that competed on Sunday in the AAU state meet qualified to go to the Junior Olympics in Houston, Texas, in July.
