George Otto Jackson, 54, of Bellefontaine, went home at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, July, 16, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown.
He was born Oct. 24, 1961, in Bellefontaine, to the late Paul and Georgia Kohler Jackson. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph L. Jackson; two sisters, Rachel A. Bollas-Ramsey and Amy C. Brown; two nephews, a niece; and a great-nephew.
George married Catherine Ann McNamara on Feb. 19, 1983, and was married for 33 loving years. She survives along with two daughters, Heather A. Jackson and Carrie A. (Zackary Stewart) Jackson, son, Caleb L. Jackson and grandson, Liam Stewart, all of Bellefontaine; brothers, Ralph E. (Wanda Redfield) Jackson of Oakdale, Conn., Charles S. (Judy) Jackson of Manchester, Mich., and Francis P. (Kathy) Jackson and William H. Jackson, both of St. Cloud, Fla.; sisters, Sarah R. Williams of Hubert, N.C., Erma R. (Earl) Davis of Mesa, Ariz., Betsy A. (Dennis) Johnson of Bellefontaine and Samantha S. (Tim Baker) Jackson of Urbana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George was a 1981 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Ohio Hi-Point JVS. He worked for both Holland and Chakeres theaters.
He proudly served in the United States Navy for 10 years. He enjoyed many things including fishing, cooking, attending auctions, and spending time with his family.
Family friend Bill Prater conducts a funeral at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home & Crematory 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, where visitation begins at 1 p.m. Burial is at a later date.
