Riverside Schools Board of Education members hired a new grades pre-K through 12 assistant principal at their Tuesday evening meeting, bringing back to the district an individual who previously was employed as an intervention specialist.
Bryce Hodge was extended a contract for fiscal years 2022 through 2024, with his salary set at $65,000 per year. In the newly created position, he will assist Elementary Principal Mason Bryan and Middle School and High School Principal Kelly Kauffman with overseeing student discipline, Superintendent Scott Mann said.

“He’ll be a great fit, and is already highly respected by our students,” Mann said.
The superintendent also shared about a two-year Good Sports Grant that the district received following the application by community members Amy and Charles Shockey. It will enable Riverside to make six different orders for athletic uniforms and other sports equipment, all paid through the grant funds.
In building and grounds matters, the board approved change orders for the cooler/freezer project in the amount of $1,248 for electrical upgrade and $8,929 for mortar and tile replacement.
