Calvary Christian School marks an important date in its history Thursday, May 26, when the school at 1140 Rush Ave., Bellefontaine, graduates its first high school class in a 7 p.m. ceremony.
The Calvary Christian High School Class of 2016 is led by valedictorian Daniel Salmonowicz, with a GPA of 4.07. A son of David and Jean Salmonowicz of Zanesfield, he plans to attend Ohio Dominican University to major in pre-med.
Stephen Smithers is the class salutatorian, with a GPA 4.03 attending. He plans to attend Cedarville University and he is a son of Dan and Lisa Smithers of Zanesfield.
Former school administrator Pastor Larry Czerniak returns to present the commencement address. He served at the school for 21 years, retiring in 2009, and had the dream and goal of eventually starting a high school at Calvary Christian.
