Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a non-injury crash in the 5400 block of Township Road 166 Wednesday evening.
Motorist Donald C. Patton, 38, of West Liberty, informed deputies that before they arrived at the scene, an area farmer across the road had assisted him by using a skid steer to push his disabled vehicle off the roadway so that it wasn’t a danger to other traffic.
Patton reportedly was operating a southbound pickup when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a bridge abutment. His vehicle then went airborne and landed in the roadway after overturning.
The driver did not report any injuries and was wearing his seat belt. He was cited for failure to control, deputies report. Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene.
